We're a web design agency based in India that builds websites for clients across India and abroad, so we'll be upfront about our bias. This guide is still the checklist we'd want you to use on anyone — including us.
Why businesses hire in India
- Value. Senior-level work typically costs less than an equivalent studio in the US, UK or Australia.
- Time zones work in your favour. Feedback you send at the end of your day is often handled by your next morning.
- A deep talent pool in modern web technologies like Next.js, React and TypeScript.
What it should cost
Be wary of both extremes. Very cheap quotes usually mean a lightly customised template, little testing and no support after launch. For clients outside India, our builds start at $499 for a focused business site, $1,999 for a custom animated site with a CMS and $5,999 for bespoke work. Our pricing page shows exactly what each level includes — with a live demo of each.
Seven checks before you hire anyone
- Live work, not screenshots. Ask to click through real sites at the level you're paying for.
- A fixed quote. Hourly billing across time zones is how budgets drift.
- Ownership in your name. Domain, hosting and code repository should be created in your accounts.
- Weekly progress on a live link. You should never wait weeks to see anything.
- Performance and SEO basics. Ask how they test mobile speed and whether they add structured data.
- Written scope. Pages, features, revision rounds and support period — all on paper.
- A direct line to the person building it. Not just a sales contact.
Red flags
- They want full payment upfront with no milestones.
- They host the site on their account and "manage it for you".
- They can't explain what happens if you want to move to another developer.
- Every portfolio site looks like the same template.
How we work
Fixed price after a short call, weekly reviews on a live URL, everything in your name, and you talk directly to the people building your site. If that sounds right, send us a brief — or try the cost calculator first.
